Since its inception in 1980, the Space Theatre of Hong Kong Space Museum has been offering educational and entertaining planetarium and Omnimax shows to the public. The digital sky projection system, audio equipment, the facilities in control studio and production studio have also been upgraded with cutting-edge technologies to provide exhilarating audiovisual experiences to the audiences.
The Space Theatre was reopened after renovation on 1 July 2021. The major part of the project was to replace the 23-metre-diameter dome screen. Utilising the latest NanoSeam technology, the new screen offers a seamless experience to us, bringing sharper and more immersive images before our eyes.
Some of you may not have visited us after we reopened in 2021. Therefore we have prepared the highlight video of the renovation process for you to sit back and enjoy!
