An astronomical event "Lunar occultation of Venus" will occur on Friday (27/5). An occultation happens when a celestial object passes between the observer and another far object so that we cannot see the light from the far one. Therefore, when the Moon travels between us and the planet Venus, and completely blocks the light from Venus, a lunar occultation of Venus occurs.

This event will begin at 11:42a.m. and end at 12:52p.m. on Friday. Since the Moon and Venus are among the brightest objects in the sky, they can be observed through telescopes even under daylight. However, due to a countable angular distance between the Sun and the two objects, extreme caution is necessary when observing this event, as even a momentary glance at the Sun can cause burns and permanent blindness. Do not try to observe without supervision unless you have plenty of experience in solar observation.

The Space Museum team was hoping to shoot this marvelous event for you. However, judging from the weather forecast for Friday, we are very likely to miss this astronomical event (yet again) ...
