From ancient times to the present, humans have been fascinated by exotic creatures, yet few of them have captivated our imagination like the prehistoric dinosaurs. Among these mysterious giants, the Tyrannosaurus rex (T. rex) stands unrivalled as the ultimate ruler.
The Dome Show T. REX takes us on an extraordinary journey with a palaeontological team as its members uncover dinosaur fossils in Montana's Hell Creek Formation. Combining the latest scientific discoveries with stunning computer-generated imagery, the show vividly recreates the legendary life of T. rex - from its evolution into the apex predator of the Cretaceous period, to thrilling scenes of pack-hunting Edmontosaurus, and its epic life-and-death battle against its longtime adversary, Triceratops. Along the way, the show reveals how groundbreaking research continues to reshape our understanding of this prehistoric giant.
Prepare to travel through time to an era when giants ruled the Earth, and witness the unmatched majesty and power of the T. rex!
As its fossils being discovered in the Hell Creek Formation in North Dakota, USA, Anzu was nicknamed the "Chicken from Hell," and was known for stealing dinosaur eggs.
T. rex hatchlings grew at an astonishing rate, going from the size of a house cat to nearly human-sized within their first year. They honed their hunting skills through playful activities, preparing them for survival.
In a world dominated by giants, young T. rex could become prey to other predators, requiring their parents to remain constantly vigilant and defend against threats from powerful rivals such as Quetzalcoatlus.
Juvenile T. rex were intelligent and agile, capable of hunting medium-sized prey like Edmontosaurus. However, pack hunting often escalated into fierce conflicts among siblings.
This is part of an extremely rare juvenile T. rex fossil discovered in North Dakota's Hell Creek Formation. As very few juvenile T. rex fossils have been unearthed to date, this significant discovery provides valuable insights into how it evolved into an apex predator.
Veteran palaeontologist Dr. Tyler Lyson guides the three children who discovered this precious fossil, teaching them how to use specialised tools for careful excavation.
