The next penumbral lunar eclipse visible in Hong Kong will take place on 21 February 2027 (Sunday). This penumbral lunar eclipse will begin at 5:10 am when the Moon enters penumbra, with the Moon’s altitude at 21.4 degrees. The penumbral eclipse will still be in progress when the Moon sets at 6:50 am. It is possible to observe the eclipse from any district in Hong Kong as long as the view is unobstructed by buildings. Interested observers are advised to choose a location with a wide view to the west, such as waterfront promenades or parks in various districts.
